ABOUT DELFI
For more than two decades, Cuban-born artist Delfi Cruces has created vibrant, imaginative worlds inspired by the beauty and complexity of nature.
Delfi began painting in 2005, in her 60s, after a career in healthcare specializing in radiology and mammography. What began as the fulfillment of a childhood dream became a daily artistic practice.
Her earliest paintings explored flowers, landscapes, and animals. Over time, these subjects evolved into increasingly imaginative compositions, where the feminine form and the natural world became intertwined.
Central to her work is La Madre, her interpretation of Mother Nature. Through vivid color, rich detail, and fantastical imagery, Delfi explores the connections between woman, nature, and the living world.
Working primarily in oil on canvas, Delfi continues to paint daily, guided by curiosity, instinct, and an imagination that continues to evolve.
